Without Black Players, There Will Be No Football League – NFL Chairman Speaks Against Racism.
The Commissioner of the National Football League, NFL, Roger Goodell has apologized for not listening to players as they spoke out collectively against racial prejudice against the blacks in the United States and called on the league to condemn racism and support its black players.
“We the National Football League, condemn racism and the systematic oppression of black people,” Goodell said. “We, the National Football League, admit we were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier and encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest,” Goodell said.
He also noted that without black players their will be no National Football League.
Goodell said he will be reaching out to players and others who have spoken out on these issues to see “how we can improve and go forward for a better and more united NFL family.”
