Lyon Advances Into UCL Semi-Final As They Shock Man City With A 3-1 Victory


Lyon has advanced to the Semi-Final of the UCL after beating Man City in a shocking scoreline, 3-1.

M. Cornet opened the scoring for Lyon in the 24th minute, placing a shot with his left foot into goal. 

The goal made it the 5th goal he has scored against Man City overall in his career.

Before the end of first half, Kevin De Bryune made an amazing pass to Sterling, and the winger couldn’t find the ball into the net as it deflected off the Lyon goalie.

Kevin De Bryune found the net in the 69th minute raising the bar of hope for the Cityzens as they fought back to make the scoreline 1-1.

Moussa Dembele came up in the 75th minute and added to the Man City’s woes, scoring two goals late in the second half with his first goal in the 79th minute.

Raheem Sterling missed a sitter before Lyon’s third goal as he failed to find the empty net 3-yards out.

Man City were punished by Lyon after missing a clear-cut chance to make it 2-2, As Moussa Dembele rebounded the ball off Ederson hands into the goal post in the 87th minute.

This victory for Lyon will see them face Bayern Munich in the Semi-Final stage in the coming week.
