Drama as Governor Wike Storms Joy Nunieh’s House To ‘Rescue’ Her From Police

Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Joy Nunieh who is scheduled to testify before a house committee as part of the ongoing probe against NDDC today, Thursday July 16, was stopped from leaving her home by policemen who stormed her apartment in the early hours of today in an alleged bid to stop her from appearing before the Senate panel, investigating allegations of corruption in the NDDC.

The panel is investigating alleged misappropriation of N40 billion by the interim management committee (IMC) of the NDDC.

Recall that Nunieh had also been enmeshed in a public face-off with Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio who she accused of embezzlement and sexually harassing her.

However, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, stormed the residence of Joy Nunieh, ordered the police officers out and later drove off with her.
