The Presidential Task Force on Covid19 has extended gradual easing of the lockdown order by additional two weeks. The extension is to enable other sectors yet to open to fully prepare measures for the eventual easing of the lockdown.
Recall that the President had on April 27, announced a “phased and gradual easing” of the lockdown in the Federal Capital Territory, Lagos and Ogun states, while declaring a nationwide curfew with effect from May 4 accompanied with a ban on all inter-state movements.
The PTF chairman, Boss Mustapha while speaking at the PTF daily briefing said that the gradual ease of the lockdown will be extended till June 1st because Nigerians are not ready for full economic opening. therefore “ some tough decisions have to be taken for the good of the greater majority.”
