Again! Flood Hits Lagos As Residents Shares Videos Of Their Woes.

An early morning downpour on Thursday, June 18 in Lagos brought untold hardships to residents of Surulere, and parts of Lekki and Ajah, leaving motors and commuters stranded.

The rain started at the early hours of the day, between 1am-2am and lasted through the daybreak.

The flooding was noticeable after the rain in areas like Iyana-Ejigbo, Surulere, Agege, Mushin and Lekki respectively.

The flood water also swept some debris in its path, as household valuables were submerged in flood, causing some drains and drainage channels to become blocked.

Popular music artist Manager, Ubi Franklin who is a resident in Lekki took to instagram with a video to share how his PA woke him up at 5:30am to give him update about the house being flooded.

Also, residents of the affected places hit by flood took to Twitter to share their utmost disappointment on the drainage system of their areas as some were seen trolling those who reside in the affected flood areas.

Sharing the video of the flood, a social media user wrote: “HOMECOMING PARTY. Argungu, Lekki, Lagos Edition. Water will always find its level. Keep pushing them away, they knew where they came from.”

Another Nigerian wrote: “A lot of people might be forced to move out of their house’s in Lekki for this rainy season”.
